DescriptionI heard today was the day that I'm supposed to post this cover art. I saw this one day by the bay. I chewed on some chocolate for a while and the boss lady upstairs decided I can go after it. I bided my time, used a view scope to train it in my cross-hairs, and watched it prance around getting fat over 6 days, 59 minutes, and 52 seconds. I then used my MK 13 rifle and sniped at it to take it down. "I bagged a good one", I thought proudly to my hunter self. The result of which is this cover of little Gus that hangs as a trophy on my wall.Social/Sharing |

I've long wondered when this one would surface. Nice grab, Marcus.

Nice add Marcus! Especially timely with the NFlix show hitting today. Love Lemire's work on this series.

I came to this series very late, only reading it perhaps 2 years ago, but I'm glad I gave it a shot as I really enjoyed it immensely. Very cool to see this trophy head cover!
Though, I'm having trouble reconciling you managing to bag this trophy with such poor marksmanship. I cannot fathom how 6 days, 59 minutes, and 52 seconds bagged this one for you. I mean, you were early by 7 full seconds!

Did Bill Finger work on this or Shelly Moldoff? Why didn't you get Oliff to color it?

I'm hoping the new Netflix show is as good as this cover. I'm constantly on the hunt for good comic book adaptations on my television, but they are much more difficult to find than good art. Sweet cover though!

Love it, and quite possibly the best descrip I've read on CAF... ever.

I hope it's in a horn-rimmed frame. You bagged yourself a keeper here. And thank you for the series reminder. :) High caliber congrats!

Best story on CAF yet! Really think this has a lot of room to grow and the fan base is cult like. The Netflix show might help but think this will do fine standing on its own. That is till you shot it down:) Now we'll just have to admire you're trophy:) Congrats!

Awesome specimen, Markus! I hope the producers of the show get a look at this and think of what may happen to THEM should the show be bad...! :) Outstanding write up and really special, lovely piece. Though completely unrelated, it makes me think of the cover of Elvis Costello's 'Spike' album; 'The Beloved Entertainer' theme kind of fits in the context of all the new eyeballs (including my own!) being introduced to this series thanks to Netflix. We'll see if Sweet Tooth not only has legs, but also Pads, Paws, and Claws... Great piece!

I hear he is the grand-daddy of all Jackalopes. I guess I should now say that in the past tense.

Kinda sad day when this was bagged -- the last legacy of the good Doctor Mureau.

Just because this was chosen as "Comic Art Highlight" of the day doesn't make you special. But this is a great cover, to an amazingly well done Vertigo series!

I hope you last longer than the guy on the cover. Maybe you will, if you are stuffed and mounted.
