I like all the elements of this. A lot of the opening page Conan splashes were establishment shots (Conan walking down a street or standing on a boat; Conan with his arms around a beautiful woman, etc.) but this is Conan in a full-on berserker rage, a sword in one hand, an ax in the other and a pile of dead bodies under his feet. I even like the Watcher filling out the top of the page. Great stuff by Big John and Ernie.

Really a beautiful splash page. At their best, the combination of Buscema and Chan made some beautiful music together. Congratulations!

My heart about stopped when I saw this show up on the CAF home page. This has to be the single most beautiful piece of Conan art I've seen yet!!! Man, Buscema just rocks!

Love the rippling musculature on Conan here - and such a dynamic pose! Great page and design.

This issue was one of the most anticipated of the first 25 or so. I think big John got a kick drawing it, as this splash seems t have a little something extra in effort. To say it is stunning would be a under statement. Probably some of Buscema's best work from that period. My compliments.

I am not usually a fan of Chans inks over Buscemas pencils, but this is beautiful, congrats!
