Description

This story was originally written by Steve Englehart for DC Comics Presents and to feature Superman and The Creeper. Englehart had a falling out with DC and took the plot to Eclipse for the opening issue of their magazine in the early 80s. Superman became an odd little super-powered girl and The Creeper became The Foozle, and Marshall Rogers, who was the planned artist on the initial story came along to draw it. A few years later, Rogers would continue the character in his own series for Eclipse.
I had a Rogers Silver Surfer page, but sold it because it just didn't evoke the artist's classic style to me. This one does! Dripping with detail and festooned with zip-a-tone, this page screams, Marshall Rogers! Plus -- I guess since it was drawn for the magazine -- it's larger than twice-up!

This is pure Marshall at his best. The background details show his love for detail and architectural design. The panel design displays his great camera work from panel to panel. The inks are tight and precise. Beautiful.
