Description

With an unconscious Alan Scott slung over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes, Solomon Grundy explains to his old gang how he escaped his interstellar confinement, returning to Earth (2) for the first time in the Silver Age. I've always loved Anderson's art -- my first original, some 37 years ago, was a Murphy Anderson Planet comics page that still proudly resides in my CAF. I probably gave too much for it, (who knew they could actually remove a kidney on site?) but when I saw it at Bechara's table at the Comic Art Convention, I couldn't pass it up. Gorgeous Anderson pencils and inks on this page from a Silver Age classic!

You know, this whole scenario seemed a lot more plausible when I was 9 and reading it in one of the 100-Page Super-Specs. Regardless, it's a wonderful page and seeing it here gives me great joy.
