I never thought this would leave the original owner's collection! This predates your X-men #1 art by Lee and is one of his first Master piece covers for Marvel! After seeing all the Classic books he's worked on since its nice to look back and see where he really made a name for himself as a Force in the industry! Congrats, Its a Sight to Behold!

I love Lee/Williams from these good ol' days, amazing! A piece I thought would never leave Bill's hands either. Makes you wonder what the heck he's buying next! Very Grail, and an exceptional acquisition. Congratulations!

In my opinion, UXM 271-275 remain the peak of Lee and Williams, even better than XM 1! An this is the best cover from that period. I am so jealous! Congratulations!

I remember when I had a shot at this cover when Bill was going after it. I really should have taken out a loan to get this one. Congrats and it's much better than X-men #1.

Jim lee's approach to staging really brought a lot of the big action-excitement the series lost during the late 80's, which was no easy feat because those Claremont stories had gotten really dense. Jim was able to open the book up a little more each issue without losing any of the nuance and dark atmosphere Claremont's stories had taken on the last few years leading up to this. While Jim lee's drawing had a very "marvel way" look to it in the best sense of the word Williams inks seemed to use more hard edges and crosshatching than I was used to seeing on mainstream monthly comics at the time which made their art seem really dangerous and punk rock. Made for a big anniversary issue! I wish this was mine! Congrats!

Fabulous art spoiled somewhat by lousy glue stains. Make it look even better by getting it restored.
