Big fan of both The Iron Giant and Matt Wagner. After seeing this piece, I can't think of a better choice of artist for the subject matter, just so very well executed. Big congrats on a beautiful commission!

Absolutely incredible. As good as it gets, really. Love the composition (with the bottom half in complete darkness) and the glorious lighting elements that work to amp up the magic here, obvious and subtle (like the tiny jot of reflected starlight on the otherwise pitch black rivet on the Giant's right side of his belt, as well as the grey rivet next to it (where the belt is black)...). Just phenomenal stuff, Mike, even throwing in a cherry-on-the-cake shooting star to cinch the whole image together. Matt nailed this, Mike! Possibly the crown jewel of your incredible Matt Wagner collection. MEGA-congrats on this treasure, Mike!
