Description

Classics Illustrated #85 The Sea-Wolf, Painted Cover Original Art (Gilberton, 1964). A spine-tingling scene from the Classics Illustrated version of Jack London's sea-going story, The Sea-Wolf. The approximate image area of this painting measures 11.5" x 20", and the art is in Very Good condition.
For some unknown reason the painting was reversed for the printed cover.
Larsen the Sea-Wolf to the far right.

Great Classics Illustrated pick-ups Lars! I love a good shark illustration. I do have a question though, having never read the book: Is the crew saving this guy, or feeding him to the shark?

Thanks for the comment, Lee. You can read all about the the episode with the shark on pgs 26 - 29 in the Classic, since the Blum story is posted in my gallery. Thanks to George Hagenauer for selling the whole issue back in 2008.
