Description

Gerald McCann: First painted cover for "Les miserables" by Victor Hugo, Classics Illustrated #9 ( Gilberton, March 1961 ). Interior art by Norman Nodel. The first edition from 1943 had line-drawing cover and interior art by Rolland Livingstone. Thanks as always to Bill Jones and Hart Rieckhof. The overall size of this painting measures 14.5" x 21".
