DescriptionThis is one of Mike Zeck's most iconic images from the 1980's. While he has done a few re-creations of this image this is the only one that is an 11"x17" line for line straight-up recreation. This image is by far the most requested piece Mike is asked to do but alas he no longer accepts requests for exact re-creations of this piece. As Mike's unofficial #1 fan for 22 years running I managed to blackmail him into doing this piece for me. It is one of the nicest pieces in my entire art collection by far.** UPDATE 12/22/2011 ** The original cover on which this commission is based was just voted by the readers of comicbookresources.com as #50 of the "Top 50 Most Memorable Covers Of The Marvel Age". As Mike's #1 "official" fan, congratulations on a wonderful piece. Mike puts a lot of time and effort into his recreations and it shows!

I'm a huge Zeck fan, especially of his PUNISHER work...but this may be the best piece he's ever done. Kudos to you!

ZECK will go down as one of the best Marvel artists of his day. His work is brilliant and you can see why in this cover recreation. Great one, Mark.

I'd ask for a recount on voting if this cover was only #50 on the all-time greatest covers list. In my opinion it's top ten. The impactfulness of the imagery and movement isn't seen on par with this cover. Of your 49 other covers, your sentimental favorites, your historical favorites, etc., few will have the raw rendering value of this one. More to the point, if this was a movie poster, you know everyone would buy tix! You can't say the same for 90% of the other covers on the top 50 :) This has everything I want in a comic book cover... -Congrats on an amazing commission-
