Description

Zauriel was a member of the Eagle Host of Heaven (one of four: Eagle, Bull, Human and Lion) who came down to Earth because he fell in love with the woman he was guarding. Since he knew of the Bull Host's plans to rebel against God, the King-Angel Asmodel came down to San Francisco to kill him. Along with the Justice League, he was able to beat back the angelic invasion and was subsequently invited to the team. This half-splash page, from "JLA" No. 6 (his first appearance) shows Zauriel and the Martian Manhunter. I'd thoroughly enjoyed Grant Morrison and Howard Porter's run on "JLA" and am very happy to add this page to my collection!

Beautiful piece ! I always loved the way Howard renders winged characters. This page is dramatic and calm at once... very cool !
