DescriptionI can't thank my best comic art friend David enough for this piece !!!I've been trying to get it for more than 4 years as it is my favorite image of the Brubaker's saga of Captain America/Winter Soldier (126 issues!). Problem was it was more than just a good looking page or one of the biggest Cap ever drawn, it's the first appearance of Bucky picking up Cap's mantle after his death. This was the moment I had been waiting for since Cap's death, THE answer to the question "Who will become the new Cap?", the logical progress of Bucky's incredible destiny, the first time we saw the new costume and the new Cap. So yes : that was a BIG moment. And a tough page to get. In a CBR interview, Epting said he wanted the first time readers saw Bucky in the new Cap costume to be a breathtaking moment. "I juggled a few panels so that it would be a full page". "Ed uses splashes and double page spreads very rarely, but I felt this called for a full-page shot and it seems to have worked out." Yes, I believe it worked out fine : Marvel used this splash again for the cover of the 2nd printing of #38 (and it became one of the best and most iconic covers of the run imho), the director's cut, a poster, the title page of #39, etc. A friend told me it's a historic page. I'm not sure about that as I don't know how many people besides Barnes and now Wilson have become Captain America. But I know it's a page that counts in MY comics history : Brubaker's run is one of my favorite Marvel sagas ever (my favorite of the last 3 decades), so to become the caretaker of my favorite image of the run means a lot to me. I remember reading this comic, getting to this page and thinking, 'How cool would it be to own this one?!'. Well, now YOU know. It's a signature image from one of the best Captain America runs. Big congrats!

I just love the low angle perspective on this! What a great shot with Widow in the background. And those buildings! Wow!

Great splash and Guice a great collaborator on this run as well - but Epting achieved master status on this run as evidenced on this page.

Great large image of Bucky as Cap. Cap in motion while throwing his shield is priceless.

It's so cool to see this page in its as-nature-intended glory without the added digital coloring effects... and a little Natasha thrown in just ups the coolness factor! Big congrats!

Wow epic cover! I can see Captain America dying in the upcoming Avengers Infinite War movie and Bucky being woken from his induced sleep to step in as Cap! Even if they don't still an awesome cover!

Phenomenal splash/cover! The new Cap as only Steve Epting can draw him! There's so much drama in this one panel! Eptings' pencils really make the scene powerful and Butch Guice's inks heighten the drama!
