I had been wanting a Magik sketch for a long time and thought Gene would do a great job with her. I just wasn't sure if I should ask for it or not because one of the reasons I like Gene's art so much is that it gives me a "happy" vibe. Magik really doesn't give me a "happy" vibe. Gene told me he could handle it and it would make a great companion piece to the Kitty he had done for me earlier. Was he right. I can't say I love this sketch more than Kitty but boy is it close. I think it's awesome how he lights her from the portal and has that subtle shading effect above her and the demon hands. That's real creative talent in my opinion. The severed demon hand adds just the right touch of humor. Or is that just me? ;) If you don't have a sketch from Gene yet I highly recommend one! FX Con 2009
