DescriptionI was fortunate enough to acquire this rare Large Art Nick Cardy cover and the only one of two Large Art Aquaman covers known to exist -- iconic image that's been used time and time again (X-Men #137 and Brave & Bold #84 immediately come to mind). When it comes to the Silver Age I'm more of a Marvel collector/reader but was blown away by the beauty of this work --and not often you get an image that has all the main characters from the title (Arthur, Mera, Aqualad, Tusky and even the dying, drying ocean) in one place!Social/Sharing |

One of my favorites of Nick's Aquaman covers. Beautiful in black and white. But the colors really made the cover.

The ink work on this piece is solid. Great image and layout. If you don't mind me asking, do you think you will have this restored? I ask cause of the yellowing from the glue. Great score!

Great score! Thanks Frank, I have to agree with you --very, very solid all around. I wouldn't bother having this restored, the camera picks up more yellowing than the naked eye, it looks great in person!

Holy Moley! Like u Will I grew up mainly a Marvel guy. But do love some DC from the 60's early 70's mainly. Nick Cardy was the Romita of DC in my opion. Huge congrads!

This is one of the only AQUAMAN comics I own... and all because of this astounding cover. I'd go out on a limb and say it's one of Cardy's 2 or 3 best EVER! (along with the Batman & The Bat Squad BRAVE AND THE BOLD cover) Nice Get, Will!

I never thought of a Cardy/ Romita comparison until mentioned by Mike M. above, but have to agree with his observation. Romita is known for his clean line work, which I've always appreciated, but it is his beautiful compositions that are often overlooked. This piece features both beautifully executed line work and composition by Cardy. A true grail. Congrats, Will!

When the art world realizes comic art is a viable art form this is the kind of piece that will be hanging in museums. They will not care about some special story line or nostalgia. They will analyze each work as a work of art. And pieces like this one will stand out.
