Description1977: Red Ronin joins the fray as the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D try to contain the King of the Monsters before he triggers a nuclear holocaust. I have very fond memories of the Marvel Godzilla series as a child, and I am thrilled to add such a great example to my collection. Thanks, Shaun!Social/Sharing |

Thanks! Coming from you that is high praise as you have some of the most fantastic Godzilla pages ever! Trimpe made it all work.

Red Ronin vs Godzilla is big kaiju action! That simplified blocky helicarrier made it possible for kids to imagine they could build it out of Legos. Trimpe lit up the imaginations of kids who came to this title because Godzilla movies made their way to the US TVs during this late 70's to early 80's time period.

This is such an underrated series. Trimpe was perfect for this, and the SHIELD equipment, Red Ronin, the monster's original to the series, and of course Godzilla certainly fired up my imagination (and still do).

For twelve months, the best day of each month was when my Godzilla came in the mail. The last issue of my subscription was the last issue of Godzilla. I wrote to Marvel begging them to tell me it wasn't so, but they wrote back and told me they were sorry, but it was indeed so. I was really sad.
You are so lucky to have this page with the introduction of Red Ronin!

Thank you so much! I have fond memories of Saturdays at Green's Pharmacy, where Dad would buy me a Coke, a bag of peanuts, and a comic book. It was always a special treat when I would find a Godzilla comic. This reminds me of that special time in my life, now so long ago.
