Looking back to my initial 3 years of comic book collecting (which appears to still be the significant drive of most of my art collection) Doug Moench and Roy Thomas stories dominate the reading list. This arc of MOKF is particularly high in nostalgia with fond memories of the Shang Chi, Leiko and Shen Kuei love triangle (with a heavy does of @$$ kicking)and of course the great design and storytelling of Gene Day's Art... That last panel is rather dynamic, but I also enjoy how he handled all the camera angles during all the exposition in the top 2/3 of the page and am particularly impressed at how he managed to work in all the Leiko cheesecake shots (none of which are over the top but still manage to command the eyes attention). Mr. Day is indeed missed.

Ample proof that Gene Day was THE right successor to Paul Gulacy on MOKF! Fantastic shadowplay and great poses!

Awesome!!! So much going on on this page that I don't understand... but I don't need to know the entire story to appreciate the art and that last panel -- kapow! Big time challenge!!

I never read these as a kid and have thus only recently discovered the sublime work of Gene Day. What a great page!
