DescriptionMaster of Kung Fu Vol 1 #106 pg. 16November, 1981 "The Assassin Master!" Writer: Doug Moench Penciler: Gene Day Inker: Armando Gil Letterer: Jim Novak Wearing Samurai Armor, Shang-Chi and Leiko invade Velcro's fortress. I have bought and sold more art from this series over the last 20 years than from any other run of books I collected as a kid. It has been fun to see the interest grow, especially in Gene Days work, over the years. Social/Sharing |

Sweet MOKF piece! I really dig action filled pages like this where you can sequential moves vs just a bunch of pinups! Congrats!

Killer top to bottom action! Really digging the fact paced storytelling here, as well as the inks. Congrats, Frank!

That's a lovely action sequence, with rich contrast. I love the sense of a continuous background in the lower tier, with fight seemingly moving across it. Great page!

I will admit to being somewhat obsessed with Gulacy during his run. So I didn't appreciate the Mike Zeck and Gene Day runs as much as I do now. I don't like to think about it because it just makes me remember the great Day title splash I foolishly sold. Congrats on a great page.

That's how an action page should be ! Great and superb inks and blacks, Gene was only topped on MoKF by Gulacy but much better than Zeck.
