I love Don Rosa and all the work he's done with the Carl Barks ducks.

Arguably his finest hour was his Eisner-winning 1990s series The Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck, a glorious 12 part series that meticulously retraced every reference Carl Barks had ever made about Scrooge's youth, and put them all together to properly tell his origin through his younger years.

It's an amazing archival and storytelling tour-de-force that is just as perfect today as the day it was written.

This was one of my favorite $crooge pages from the entire series, when "Buck" McDuck sends home the photo of him in full regalia, an image repeated on the cover and opening page (and a con sketch I got from Don!). I absolutely adored the simplicity and brilliance of that last panel of Scrooge seeing fish when it rained. It also didn't hurt that it had him riding his horse, as well:)

Don has kept this series under lock and key for 25 years and is selling it all off now. This was one of my top targets and I'm beyond thrilled to have snagged it! Now on to the next chapter:) I need more for my Art Bin...

I know, I know, I'm a superhero cover guy--But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy other types of comic art. Like this amazing Scrooge McDuck page. I used to read a lot of Scrooge McDuck in my (much) younger days and this one really struck a cord with me. I love the layout and the quirky characters and the humor. The final scene with rain and the fish is hilarious. So anyway, I just wanted to say great stuff!
