Description

Argentine artist Juan Gim�nez had a bold visual style that lent itself well to the galaxy spanning space opera Metabarons. A spinoff of the already epic Incal series, Metabarons chronicled a race of nearly immortal cyborg warriors with a decidedly unhealthy approach to parenting. This illustration depicts Princess Oda, whose body has been implanted with the soul of another woman, Honorata, as part of messianic breeding experiment. His pen and ink work emphasizes the level of detail he put into his characters' armor and weaponry.

I believe this is a prelim for the cover artwork for Juan's artbook called Overload

Gimenez's work moves me. This may be the only pen and ink piece of his I've ever seen. . . it is marvelous!
