DescriptionVintage sketch of Walt Simonson's Manhunter.I'm never going to own a Manhunter page, they aren't out there, I know that. I'm never going to get a nice finished Manhunter piece, I know that too. I've resisted buying Manhunter sketches simply to have a Simonson sketch. Most of the ones I've seen are either head sketches or rough full figures, not what I was interested in. Then along came this bad boy, the piece I was looking for... Walt Simonson's Manhunter. The paper has seen better days, it's a little wrinkled in places, it has a brown stain and some tape residue but all in all a beautiful sketch. Done on 11X14 paper, one of Simonson's signature characters in all his glory. Such a cool character. The costume doesn't make sense and is impractical in every way (what the hell are those things on his boots?!!) but I absolutely love the design and you get to see it all in this sketch. Manhunter by Walt Simonson on 11X14 paper. Dated 8-14-83 Social/Sharing |

Not quite a fully-finished drawing but definitely more than just a quick sketch, this is a fine pick-up. Arguably the best superhero miniseries of the 1970s. My favourite, at least. Congrats.

Well considered and weighed quality vs cost. It is certainly of a vintage when Simonson was able to produce a sketch of this calibre.

Manhunter works hard to build up his calves. Those things on his boots are calf protectors. Imagine running with hard cages surrounding your calves? Great vintage piece!

Great full body Manhunter sketch. As you said, you're not going to find or be able to afford anything better. I settled for just a head sketch myself. Congratulations on such a great find.

Definitely more than just a sketch: the spirit of the character is right here! Congrats!
