Description

Joe Orlando and Vince Colletta - Original art to DAREDEVIL # 4, page 18 (Marvel, 1964).
After gaining fame as one of EC's top artists for his work on their best-selling horror and science-fiction titles, the legendary Joe Orlando spent a brief period of time working for Marvel during that company's infancy. His most significant contribution was taking over Daredevil after the first issue by veteran Bill Everett. Orlando penciled a mere three issues before handing the book over to his mentor, Wally Wood.
Daredevil was sporting his original yellow-and-black costume in this exciting early issue in which he meets up with Killgrave, the Unbelievable Purple Man and sexy Karen Page. This page also feature's Kilgrave's origin.
This classic large art page measures approximately 13.75" x 20", with an image area of approximately 12.25" x 18.5". There are some marginal notations, none of which affect the actual art. Underneath the inks, some of Orlando's pencils can still be seen.

Another wonderful page with the lovely Karen, ahem, Page. I wish it would have been a little more windy up there, that we might have seen more of her legs. That would also have been a convenient distraction for the Purple Man.
