DescriptionWho is ready for some killer 90's art? Well, here is a JSC/Gen13 1997 cover - what more could you ask for?This is the TPB Cover for 'Backlist' where they collected a bunch of Gen13 'dogs and cats' into a single book including the Wizard 1/2, #0, etc. I love the composition of this cover. Instead of a huge fight scene, you have the team in a circle, you can tell they alarmed and ready for action, but maybe not quite sure who they are up against. In the background, in shadows are their three antagonists. I've included the color scan in the comments where you can see the colorist really amplified this effect. Love the signature JSC attention to detail, not only on the team, but the bad guys. (In comments if anyone remembers their names, lmk I didn't have time to look them up and it's been ~27yrs since I read the books ;) Thanks Larry for the trade on this one, gen13 pages/covers are getting increasingly rare and I'm excited to add this one to the collection! Thanks James, reading them makes me wish the economics worked iut for JSC to fo a full book vs covers.

This is cover design is modeled after the X-Men with the Sentinels looming over them by Michael Golden. It is often said that most of the image guys at Wildstorm got a lot of influence from Golden. While it is not in drawing style of Campbell, it is certainly in the design and storytelling in bits like this cover.
