Description

This is certainly a grail page for me and hands down my favorite Big John panels page, bar none! Due in no small part to Alcala�s Wrightson-worthy inks! I�ve been chasing this one for some time, and was quite daunted some years back. So am quite stunned by the whole thing but couldn�t be happier.

I first saw the page partially reprinted in the Baycon 3 program from 1977, which was my first con. That Conan entrance by Buscema/Alcala just left me floored. I was a fan for life of all three of them. Also, love that Kirby Eternals cover of Ikaris over the Golden Gate Bridge!

Incredible! Love this page! You're right... Alcala's inks are spectacular here. Although all the panels are amazing I particularly like the third panel. Congrats!

Buscema created a page of sequential art where every panel works in conjunction from its suspenseful beginning to its exciting end, and Alcala's inks gives the whole page a life that no other inker could. All in all, it is a superior example from one of the best art teams of the Bronze Age.
