Description

Of all three Warriors of the Shadow Realm issues from the Marvel Comics Super Special series, the opening splash of Tyndall, Velanna & Mud-Butt fishing has come to personify the whole series for me, more than any of the covers, more than any of the other Buscema images (Ploog's a whole different story!). I'd been hoping for any page from the amazing Buscema/Nebres/Ledger art, but just couldn't swing it until now. Well, maybe I was a little bit more motivated with it being this splash! Man, that took some serious lead time! Anyways, I absolutely love this art!

Art from 1979 (painted edge to edge at the width and backed with foamcore) - 11x17.

That is absolutely stunning! Thanks for providing such a wonderful scan. Although I'm sure it still doesn't do the original justice. Wow!

Fabulous fantasy painting by John Buscema and Rudy Nebres! I love the colors in this piece--They're so vibrant! Delightful characters as well, with the elven boy and girl and the amusingly crotchety fisherman. Surprising that this is a Buscema/Nebres piece, though. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!
