DescriptionHappy to pick this one up for that rarity that is Byrne & Simonson, would have loved to see a bit more of that (like Kane & Cockrum!). Also, nice to add the cover to some of the Mignola interior pages I’ve lucked upon.Art from 1988 - 11x17. Social/Sharing |

Ah, they're little glued-on copies! Smart! ^_^

Personally, I would NOT have wanted to see them both team up on interiors on a project. Because while I do remember being excited at the time to see two of that decade's most popular artists teaming up on these covers, they actually don't have complimentary styles, hence why these covers ended up looking a lot more like Simonson than Byrne. For me, it was cool enough to see them do it just on the 4 covers, as you say, due to the rarity factor. But very cool and very fun to see this!

On the other hand - the Byrne/Simonson pages from the "Atlantis Attacks" X-Factor annual are really great!
This cover is actually the first piece of comic artwork that I ever saw in person, at a late 80s / early 90s Motor City Comic Con.

In any case it’s killer to have a pretty rare piece by this dynamic duo! And it was the first piece of OA you ever saw?! Makes it even cooler for sure! Congrats!
