Description

"Evil is like the seed of an oak! Small at first, it can explode into something mighty. And both can move with a vengeance!"

A Byrne fan of every era, so was happy to have lucked upon this unpublished 6 pager from his Charlton days (even though unfinished). The pages are only listed as “Ghost”, so the story could of been for a good many Charlton titles, most likely Ghost Manor, The Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves or Ghostly Tales. The story is titled “Hanging Moss” and chronicles the dastardly machinations of a lumber company that deals in corporate sabotage to take down competitors. Things take a supernatural turn when the company's fixer “Stroph” goes a forest too far in the deep south of Alabama…

I really wish we'd got to see Byrne do some Creepy/Eerie horror stories like this one, not really many by Byrne that fall into that category. Side note, it was cool to see that JB's cronies in C.P.L. have advertising space next to Stroph's corporation on page 2.
