DescriptionBy CROM!!I'd been chasing this one for some years now! Aside from the obvious cool Kane art, because when this hit the stands back in '81, I took it back to a buddy of mine's place to read, and liked it so much, I ended up doing an impromptu freehand recreation. Since I was at my buddy Isom's house, I worked in his large art pad, so he's had it all these years (33!), and just recently scanned the piece and sent it to me (thanks again, Ice!). I did the piece at the tender age of 14 and in Sharpie and color markers only—no pencil. My rusty memory kinda made it seem much better than it was, but I've added it here anyways! That's so great.. As a title Conan had so many great covers by great artists and that is hard to do with one subject matter and one character over such a long period of time. This is a stunner.

LOVE hearing stories like this--so glad when the right piece of art ends up in the right collection. Great dynamic Kane composition--and btw, your recreation was pretty good for a 14 year old!

I love this cover. I remember buying this from the Tobacconist on Beach 116th St, in Rockaway beach off their spinner rack. Great cover! If you ever decide to sell it, please let me know.

I remember this cover fondly. I always go back and forth between Kane and Buscema for Favorite Conan Artist. This is a great pick up.
