Description

Among my personnal collection's favorite of mine is this terrific Red Skull holding the Cosmic Cube Pin Up done in plain ballpoint pen !!!

I acquired this sketch from Chuck "Zeck" Costa at a London Super Comic Con and he explained then that Mike didn't do much ballpoint drawings (he reckoned only 2 ) during his great career but what is really interesting and so much amazing is he recalled Mike did this in his sofa while talking with friends and it is not a commission or a prelim or anything it is just something that popped out of his mind whith some piece of paper and a ballpoint.

I love ballpoint pieces ! It is pen & ink all in one and it combines the dynamic graphics of a penciled artwork & the deep feelings of an inked piece which is quite a feast to the eye.

This truly was a special Zeck piece - rare that Mike did these ballpoint drawings. Glad you're enjoying it.
