DescriptionBernie Wrighston returns to the infamous EC host witches in this unfinished piece he worked on not long before he passed away. It may not be finished but it's neat to see his work frozen in time and process.Social/Sharing |

The Donnellys would finish inking this piece. Maybe you should ask them?

Fantastic piece! And yeah that is very cool to see the work frozen in time and process like this. Like, what was going to be his next ink stroke? What caused him to be interrupted from the task? Or did he just quit for the day? Was this the only project he was working on at the time (which would mean it has the very last ink stroke he ever did ... okay, now it's getting a little morbid ... sorry). It's just quite an interesting thing to think about. Congrats on owning this piece of history.

Wonderful! I saw this in Bernie's apartment in 2011 or so. I wound up buying the rough for it, which is in my CAF gallery.

This is pretty poetic being partway done. It makes a statement about leaving things off for another day, how the grotesque can be beautiful when given care, and the life he put into these characters that represent fear and death.

Stunning piece even though it's not finished. It's a fitting tribute to that master of the macabre himself, Mr. Bernie Wrightson.
