Description

Extraordinary!!! The Famous "Death Ray over NYC" Marvel Mystery Cover! Arguably the best of Schomburg's painted recreations from his classic pen & ink works from Timely's Golden Age! Gauche on board. Measures 25 1/2" x 29 1/2" overall. circa 1982. Selected as the image used for the "Human Torch" lithograph published in 1985 alongside the other two lithographs produced in the mid 80's that utilized images from All Winners Comics and Captain America Comics to depict the other three members from this famous time of the Golden Age: Captain America & Bucky as well as the Sub-Mariner. Signed by Schomburg left-center along the far floorboard alongside the wall.
