Chic inking Kirby was one of my main influences early on and it was just a magic combination! I got to correspond with him a couple if times towards the end of his life. I'm glad Mark Heike found him and got him to a comic convention so he could hear some of the praise of fans in person finally. His period of inking Kirby wasn't really that long and I guess seemed even shorter to him, but it was SO magical!!! I was glad to find his name in and on ACG comics, too. He seem stunned that so many people thought his work with Kirby was 'such a big deal.'
