DescriptionThe first time I saw this was on Bernard Mahe's website, when Frank had his first (I think) exhibit in Paris. It hit me like a ton of bricks but, at the time, I had no available funds for it and had to see it go.I later contacted Frank's dealer Steve Morger and inquired about getting a big ass (similarly looking) commission in case I'd manage to sell part of my collection to raise the moolah. He advised me that chances were pretty slim, but I went ahead anyway and started pruning around until I had what I thought would be enough. Fast forward a few months: I'm in Paris to attend Babymetal's debut in Europe and, being there, I head out to Musee Art Ludique for a beatiful OA showing: yup, this baby was there, hanging on a wall and making whatever was next to it look pale in comparision. Fast forward a few more months: Steve drops me a line letting me know that the owner is willing to let this go. I ask -again- what the chances for the commission are and, again, I'm informed that they're really slim, with results to be unknown until finished, which might be who knows when. The decision is then pretty easy and I tell him to broker the deal and get this to me. It's now hanging proud in my hallway, and there's no time I cross it that I don't stop for a quick look: all the different styles keep it interesting even though I'm far from being a mutants fan. The beautifully alluring White Queen pin-up, the pen work on Angel's wings, the photorealistic pencils of Beast, the Steranko-influenced graphics, hand-drawn lettering... it's all there and I love every square inch of it! Thanks Steve and Frederic! Also published on "L'Incredibile Marvel: 75 Anni di Meraviglie a Fumetti" exhibit catalog, 2015. Displayed at the "L'Incredibile Marvel: 75 Anni di Meraviglie a Fumetti" exhibit, Napoli, Mostra d'Oltremare, 2015 Displayed at the "Marvel: L'Art des Super-Héros" exhibit, Paris, Les Musée des Art Ludique, 2016 Social/Sharing |

I was looking at this just the other day and man... what a score! I have to say my favorite part might be Angel but the whole piece is stunning. Probably my favorite Cho piece! Congrats =)

Had I known you were a BabyMetal fan, I wouldn't had let it go... Enjoy it Enrico.

Like you say, it's all there. And thanks for the close-ups - they are so good while being so different. Actually, scratch that. Screw you and your damn purchase with the g-damn close-ups that make me think how much fun it would be to walk by this piece in the hallway every day... :)

Hot damn! Jealousy uncut. Baller status when you can afford a Cho piece. And a beautiful kne that seizes the viewer for a strangle hold. Beautiful!
