DescriptionI love me a trade.I hardly ever sell anything because I pared down my collection for good, letting go of art that I liked but not loved, but I'm open to trades and I'm not shy about asking and, more often than not, getting. What I have is art I love, so I don't mind at all about keeping it. But yes, there are people out there that are serious when they say "I REALLY want that page" and don't just use it to sound self-important before embarrassing themselves with some low-ball offer. Case in point, this pair of beauties. Eisner was a glaring omission in my collection, so, when the chance came, I jumped to it. It costed me two pages I didn't quite wanted to let go of, but the reality was that I could not afford the Eisners and those two pages -on the other hand- I paid a pitiful amount for not really long ago. Also, as much as they looked good, their "weight" in comics was not in Eisner's GN league. The other side of the trade really wanted'em tho, so, after a couple botched attempts at getting something for me on auctions (dammit, those two went well beyond what they should've gone), I combed the websites and came up with this pair. I told him and, two days after, packages got shipped. A few days after, happy collectors! Eisner is now a name I can tick off the bucket list in marker, because these ain't no place-holders: these are it. There's a building, there's rain and snow, there's those NYC characters and there's great dialogue and a complete story in there. I'm posting (and will frame) them together because I think this is the way they must be enjoyed. Dammit, Eisner's in the house! Social/Sharing |

In all that snow and hail of vertical lines, Eisner does reduce the scene to the basics letting the dialogue carry the rest to show us the little concerns of people who talk big, but remain inside not taking a chance outside.
