DescriptionIt’s a special art day for me. I’ve been re-reading the early Spider-Man issues, and every time I go through those stories, I’m more impressed with what Lee and Ditko created. The artwork is almost a class in sequential storytelling, and some of the techniques used by Ditko are still cutting edge today.

Special art day indeed. Congratulations on a great two page sequence! When it comes to Spidey, the classic villains are the ONLY villains. Never really tried to rank them by favorites, as I usually just tend to think of them as the Sinister Six (plus Goblin and Lizard, if I'm allowed to cheat with a 7th & 8th member LOL). Anyway, congratulations again and thanks for sharing your special art day with the rest of us!

I should add, you have 'sequential' masterpieces. Fantastic Ron. Wonderful rendering technique on this one.

Again, great pick-ups Ron. I really like the way Ditko spotted the blacks on the webbing on Spidey's costume in the last two panels.

Killer set of Ditko Spidey pages. Wow! Love the details in the artist's studio and the Spidey action. Congrats, Ron!

Holy smokes, this is one of the first Spidey stories I ever read, and the image of Spidey in the 5th panel left a lasting impression on me. How wonderful to see the original art for it!

Beyond gorgeous. Beyond fantastic, or should I say amazing? Definitely a prime example of some of the best comics ever printed.

Amazing page. The lower left panel with Spidey facing the fire is just a supreme panel. Historic page.

What can be better than a Ditko Spidey vs. Doc Ock page? How about the following page? I can't wait to see how you manage to top this. Some way, some how, you always manage to do so. Cheers! N.

Wonderfully brilliant examples of Ditko's genius...I particularly love the lush ink work, look at how appealingly Spidey's costume is rendered in panel 5... and throughout...a monster two page pick up Ron, what a great acquisition!

The inks on this page, while certainly Ditko, always make me think that maybe he had had been studying Severin (or someone similar) before he drew this sequence. Also, some of the statues bring to mind Caniff and Kubert, especially the giant head in panel 2. Regardless, the effect of the inking & the background details are stunning, and while I certainly love the first & last panels on page 19, if I had to choose between your two stellar pages (& it's a good thing you did not) this is the one I'd ask to the prom.

Just incredible, Ron! I've told this to Tom Coker before, and it applies to you, too: your collection is what my collection wants to be when it grows up. I'm just in awe!

I just don't know how you do it Ron. These are two of the best Ditko ASM interiors I've ever seen. I think page 20 is my favorite, but in combination with the other page, it would be hard to top this sequence. This is what collecting is all about. So impressed.

Wow - two fantastic pages! Tough to choose (and luckily, you don't have to!), but I think I might actually prefer this one!

No one could frame a claustrophobic sequence like Ditko could. And what great inks!

The inking in these panels - every, single one - is just stunning. You must be a thoroughly happy man.

If it's even possible this may even be better than the previous page! Look at the inking! Wow. You should be made to pay admission in your own home seeing these hanging on wall side by side.

Another amazing Ditko page! Huge congrats to pick up such a great two-page sequence! Love the fire sequence and especially the fluidity of the bottom left panel--I feel like I can practically see Spidey moving. Just great stuff!

How brilliant was it to set this battle in an abandoned sculptor's studio? That is on fire. This is the tops. Big congrats Ron, and thanks for sharing this with us!
