What a great cover! I remember that, as a kid (let's say six, seven years old), I knew that girls were somehow "necessary," though for the life of me, I couldn't quite figure out why. Anyway, my point is, when it came to the FF characters I liked the most, the Invisible Girl wasn't even in the top four and that remained the case for years. By the time Byrne finished writing FF, however, not only had I figured out a few things about girls (thank God), but I thought that Sue Storm was by far the most interesting and yes, my favorite character, even surpassing lovable ol' Ben Grimm. Issues like this one were one of the reasons why.

While Terry Austin always has been and always will be my favorite Byrne inker, the combination of the prodigious talents of John Byrne and Jerry Ordway merits quite serious consideration. Congratulations on a very impressive cover!

Very nice! I used to own a page from this book.... For my money, Ordway is second only to Terry Austin for inks over Byrne. Personally, I don't care much for Byrne unless he's inked by Austin or Ordway, but when they do work together -- WOW!

I really appreciated the inkers that John worked with late in his long run. Both Jerry Ordway and Al Gordon did fantastic jobs on their issues in the latter part of his run. I remember when I first saw this cover, I just couldn't wait to dive into the book. Congrats on a very special cover indeed.

As the previous owner of this piece, let me say that the scan does not do this justice. Glad it's gone to a good home.

WOW!!! Seeing this cover reminds me when I was a young adult and Byrne's FF was out. I had just started reading comics again...long story, another place, and I visited my 7-11 store to see what "new" issues was out...and I was able to get a few Byrne's FF which in turn got me collecting again. So, thank you Ron for taking me down "memory lane" with this cover...and a fantastic one at that...no pun intended! Thanks for sharing...

A classic cover by Byrne with great inks by Ordway. It's a great to see all the details in the background. A grail for sure. Cheers! N.

A fantastic cover from Johns great work on the FF.Why does he nearly always put his signature in areas of the page that are really annoying.Someone should ask why.Great cover though.

Yowza! I seem to remember making a similar sound when I saw Sue in her fetish outfit! Or was that the sound Reed made when she porcupined him with her power?
