DescriptionSpidey's origin is perfectly captured by this 70s splash by long-time Spidey artist Jim Mooney. Absolutely love the iconic Spidey "money shot" with key moments reflected in surrounding vignettes and the classic "Peter Parker with radioactive spider" story panel below. Eye catching yet reader-friendly pages like this were critical to Marvel's licensing boom in the 70s/80s geared to entertain and engage an ever expanding and increasingly global audience.Very pleased to grab this at Live Con…thanks Ankur J! A truely nostalgic collection of poses and images of old web-head! the money shot as you call it is superb and Jim Mooney is one of those artists that really help define the character during this era! Congrats!!

From the cover, Marvel was really pushing the characters that were already reaching the mainstream. Captain America TV movie with Reb Brown, Hulk with Bixby, Spider-Woman cartoon, and of course Spidey at the tail end of the Nicolas Hammond movies. Mooney art is really sought after with his Spider-Man run being real popular.

The money shot pose is one of the most perfect and classic Spidey poses ever drawn, but what a massive bonus to have all those other full figure Spidey images surrounding it, including one with Doc Ock. As if that wasn't already an embarrasment of riches though, you also get an immediately recognizable origin panel right below all of that!

Nice one pager with origin elements and some great shots of Spidey, highlighting the homaged large post at the center! Great stuff, Dino. Congrats!

That's a wonderful piece, Dino, and from 1979! Such classic images and poses. That cover cracks me up too -- how Cap is serious even when doing some coloring, and how Hulk is frustrated as usual. Puny humans with their puny puzzles and games! Congrats, and thanks for sharing.

I might be mad, but I'd swear this is Sal Buscema not Jim Mooney. Unless it's signed by Jim somewhere surely this must be vintage Sal?

I hope the super baddies have a good health plan. Doc Ock is going to develop CTE if he even lets Spidey punch him out like that just for power demonstrations and origin recaps. This is a really sweet origin recap page by Mooney. I love how he lays out pages, and that strong, clean style. Great score. Congrats!

This page is great and all but everyone here has missed the big picture. Why do we have to wait until Halloween for the monster cereals? I want my Count Chocula now dagnabbit.
