Description

My all-time favorite Cerebus page, the famous strip-tease scene from issue #10! Red Sophia seductively sucks a bottle and strips off her top but Cerebus deadpans with a classic quip. To any fan of Dave Sim’s clever wordplay, sexual innuendos and sight gags, this is Cerebus nirvana!

No other Cerebus scene has been written about or laughed at more. Featured in numerous blogs (ie, “A Moment of Cerebus"), fanzines and news journals, and discussed in "A Very Brief Modern History of the Chain Mail Bikini" lol

Creator-artist Dave Sim later remarked, “When Red Sophia whips off her chain-mail bikini top and Cerebus deadpans, I just hoped that it would sell enough copies that I could keep it going.” Well, it certainly worked...Cerebus went on to 300 issues, one of the most successful independent comics ever published.

Many thanks to Rick W for this awesome page!

Theres no spice at all. Plenty of teasing. All the artist had to do is extend the fourth panel downward a smidgeon or two.. You would see more on the beach. Sights not drawn which draw your eyes. I am actually proud of writing the previous sentence, which shows how superficial I am. Lol. Now, a suggestion, lets get Mr. 'One Minute Later' to get a commision done...Perhaps, one second later. Instant gratification.

The average sow has fourteen teats so seeing two is nothing to Cerebus.  Pretty nice to see the Sim backgrounds as he was establishing the illustrative look that would eventually need the Gerhard assists.

"They'd probably heal if you stopped wearing that chain-mail bikini..."

CLASSIC! 😆

Always love this issue and page! Reminds me of my trips to the Texas Renaissance Festival where the guys making chain mail had good looking women there modeling Red Sonja-esque mail bikinis. For a 12 or 13 year old there was a lot to see and may questions, such as the one Cerebus poses. Lol

Such sights ruin your eyes as they sear their way into your mind via the optic nerve. You may end up requiring spectacles....

One of my favorite issues of Cerebus with one of his most memorable supporting cast members! Only an Earth pig born could be so non chalant.

This raises the must be answered question, "Is she allergic to metal and has scabrous or blotchy breasts, or is Cerberus blind and unappreciative?"

What a great reminder that I need to get back to reading Cerebus. This is a beautiful page ... for obvious reasons.
