DescriptionEnormous (18" x 28") fantasy painting entitled "Cerebus the Adventurer" (2006) by Dave Sim and Gerhard pays homage to Frazetta’s classic Conan the Adventurer. A triumphant Cerebus flanked by Jaka and Red Sophia stands atop a pile of vanquished superheroes: Spidey, Wolverine, Thing, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Mr. Fantastic, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash and more! Special thanks to Dan Pottick for the assist.Among the largest Cerebus pieces ever drawn by Dave Sim. Gerhard, known for elaborate Cerebus backgrounds and painted covers, delivers a killer composition accentuated by ornate hand-drawn borders. Social/Sharing |

To hell with the beast, this piece has the real 3 Bs : the Babe, the Babe, and the Barbarian!
Magnificent pick up Dino!

This is hilarious, I love it! But, he really drew that border design by hand?!? Wow, talk about really committing yourself to the work. That's the very definition of insanity right there!

Hi, Dino;
A few things about this piece...I am the original consignor and worked out the details with Dave. This was actually the 3rd or 4th time he did this Frazetta homage painting (once, with Cerebus on a mound of dead Smurfs).
Secondly, it is not the largest Cerebus original illo or painting...not even close.

Thanks Yoram for the insider info, I applaud your vision for the piece. Smurfs sounds fun too.
