DescriptionA stunning Neal Adams-inspired Batman painting "One Dark Knight"— one of the earliest and largest (23" x 18") by the talented Joe Jusko. Painted around the release of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film. Acrylic on heavy illustration board with a bonus Joker sketch on the back. Now framed in my office to admire every day and KNIGHT!Jusko is known for his realistic, highly detailed painted fantasy and comic illustrations. He's painted virtually every Marvel character and does DC superheroes on special occasions— 10 years ago, I sold Jusko’s “Batman Batarang” acquired at the 2006 SDCC Charity Auction, leaving a hole in my collection…so getting this Jusko Batman returns the universe to balance lol. Jusko’s amazing work on 1992 Marvel Masterpieces trading cards helped launch the painted trading card boom of the 1990s. Social/Sharing |

The Dark Knight ready for combat. Love the use of purple surounding the genius white bright moon and touching the back of the DK's cape.

Was wondering who took this down. I think Mitch had this at SD about 30 years ago. I probably should have grabbed it then. Joe is such a phenomenal painter. Congrats and enjoy!

It has elements of all the great Batman artists of the time period. Jusko's high end version to celebrate along with the movie is special to many passionate fans. Batman '89 was a fever that hasn't subsided in many collectors as it was an event that brought many back or was their intro into comics.

Jusko's first time drawing & painting Batman and oh, so cool. Just seeing him do a DC character for a change is what makes this most exciting for me. I especially love how he did the gray parts of the costume. It's appropriate that he appears to be flying through the air, because this might just be another F.A.L.C.O.N!

This is unbelievably cool. The cape frames and separates the two different parts of the art: below is Batman, and above is Gotham and the moon. And even though the moonlight is behind Batman, his face is still lit up as he jumps out at us.
Beautiful colors and lighting. I love it! Congrats, Dino!

Right when I saw this I thought "this has GOTSTA be framed!" and saw the framed piece in the additional image :) Love how vibrant the blues are against the dark background, and what a great pose. Classic Batman comin' RIGHT atcha! Sweet frame job, too, complementing the piece in both style and colors. Big congrats, Dino!
