DescriptionJohn Romita, Sr Original Spiderman and Green Goblin Pencil and Ink Commission."Jazzy" Johnny penciled and inked this incredible commission at the Wonder Con Comic Book Convention, Oakland, CA Convention Center, on 4/17/1999. John created this drawing before my eyes, consistent with the theme of Amazing Spiderman #40. Incredible to witness him turn a blank piece of paper into this image! Thank you John. You are the best! Also, had piece signed by Stan Lee at the Big Wow Convention in San Jose on 5/19/2013. See additional image below of this piece matted and framed with the original Spidey Cover #40, signed by the great one! Social/Sharing |

Very cool! I wish John was still doing commissions. Next time I give him a call or e-mail. I'm going to have to ask him again. If I can afford it even!

Spider-Man against the best Marvel villain drawn by the nicest artist in comic history! It doesn't get better than this!

What a gem! Romita commissions are few and far between, and here is one that nestles right in to issues 39/40. way to go!

This commission is great. I talked to John in 1996 when he did my head sketch and he said it's hard to do these quality commissions--because he would be drawing 24/7 with all the requests. As usual he was mostly concerned with not letting fans down. A gentleman and one heck of an artist! I believe a round of applause is in order****

Really beatutiful commission of this classic scene by the master. I'm usually no big fan of art getting "matted and framed", but in this case it's the perfect presentation for this fine piece, by Odin's bristling beard !
