DescriptionI just got into collecting original comic art and this is my first official entry in CAF.I picked this piece up from Mr. Mitch Itkowitz at Graphic Collectibles during San Diego Comic Con 2009 Preview Night. It is a pencil and pen art piece featuring Marvel's Black Cat from J.Scott Campbell's (AKA Jeff Scott Campbell) SDCC09 limited edition lithograph. I have been collecting lithographs, giclees, cels, and statues for quiet some time and I wanted to move into a hobby that was more unique. I wanted my first piece to be from J.Scott Campbell considering he has been my favorite comic artist for over 15 years. My goal is that the first 3 pieces I collect are from the Cliffhanger 3 (J.Scott Campbell, Joe Madureira, and Humberto Ramos) I went to SDCC to look for this piece and when I saw it, I was a bit shocked considering that I had no clue the piece was so large and featured ink from JSC as well. Considering this is my first original art piece, I think this will stay in my collection forever. Hopefully, this is not my last entry in CAF. Social/Sharing |

Jeff's work this year has been probably his best ever. This one will be very sought after. Very good choice.

Be careful, you're stepping into a hobby far more dangerous than statues and giclees. Today, you spend $5k, tomorrow $10k. Congrats on getting one of JSC's finest pieces ever.

Congrats! I got the Poison Ivy next to you in the gallery and like you, am very much a Campbell fan but not a hardcore comic art collector. This is my first JSC piece as well and I'm modestly hoping to add one per year... The Black Cat is gorgeous and a character I was close to choosing myself. Ben

Still, hands down, the best Black Cat Jeff has ever done. I just love all the white kitties around her!
