Description

Fabulous painting by Jeffrey Jones. This huge oil - 22 x 36 - was used as the cover to the Gardner Fox paperback, Kothar and the Conjurer's Curse. Curse was the final volume in a series that included Kothar - Barbarian Swordsman, Kothar and the Demon Queen, and Kothar of the Magic Sword. Gardner Fox was, of course, both a Golden Age and Silver Age great, having created Dr. Fate, The Flash, and Hawkman in addition to the first superhero team, The Justice Society of America,

This vintage Jones piece was painted in 1970. It's a perfect example of Jeff's tigher, earlier style. Personally, I prefer Jeffrey's earlier work to her later 90s efforts. But, they're all good. There's no such thing as a bad Jones.

Amazing! I agree that there is no such thing as a bad Jones. You are very lucky to have so many fine examples. Congrats!
