It's in the wake of the LA Riots of 1992 sparked by the Rodney King incident and trial of the LAPD. Even still, Hal was ever the optimist being the intergalactun boy scout.

Ah yes! The grey templed Hal Jordan. I remeber it was a big deal, making him older. Nonsense! Good stories and good art is what matteres and this series had both. Congrats.
