I'd like to think my purchase of this Joan Pelaez fantasy illustration represents something of a personal growth in my hobby of collecting art, as well as in my thinking as a man. The naturalistic and asymmetrical rendering of the breasts here is a little different from the pneumatic female body types that seem to be represented predominantly in my collection.

This is the tenth Joan Pelaez piece to be added to my collection and stay there. All these graphite renderings have a luminous quality that really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. At this point I may or may not have acquired all of the Pelaez art on the market that's appealed to me enough to buy. This saddens me to contemplate (we collectors are insatiable). But let's see what the future holds.
