Description

I like that the artist has wedded contemporary Western standards of physical beauty to a pin-up with a strongly vintage feel here. It's an intriguing duality that lends both modern allure and classical romanticism to this fantasy nude.

More Of Joan Pelaez's graphite art can be seen in the SQP collection, The Art Of Pelaez. Unfortunately, SQP discontinued its Gallery Girls line of softcover collections about two years ago. These books have brought me an enormous amount of pleasure over the years as a collector and fan.

I'd like to thank Larry Shell for making it possible for me to add this fine drawing to my collection.
