DescriptionGoeff Johns and Gary Frank's now classic run on Superman brought a humanity and urgency to the title and oversaw great changes in the character and his rogues gallery that will redefine him for years to come. Frank's art always has been enjoyable, but his work on Superman seemed to be among the best of his career, alternating seamlessly and naturally between terrifically exciting battle scenes and tender thoughtful moments between Clark and his family and friends.While the characterization elevates the series, in the end, Superman is about power. And that's what Gary Frank shows us here. The iconic image of Neal Adams' Superman 233 breaking chains on his chest was a graphic demonstration of that kind of power in the 70s, (and Frank has directly homaged that imagery more than once in his chronicles of big blue), but this cover may be Frank's current update of that imagery of Superman's raw unbridled power. I am very pleased to have a nice cover from this run to call my own and special thanks to Gary Frank for making this cover available. Social/Sharing |

Aaaack!!! So it was you! Well, congrats, at least it went to someone I like:P Have always been a fan of Frank's art...he's really putting his stamp on the character and will go down as one of Supe's signature artists.

Artemis, an incredible cover! Gary Frank is one of the best Modern day artists! His Superman is superb! His art looks better with each glance! congrats!

Almost any SUPERMAN page by the wonderful Gary Frank is a gem, but this image is a crown jewel ! THE Gray Frank Superman cover to have ! Congrats my friend !

i am not a supermanfan but you can feel his intensity in this piece and i really, really like it. as someone else posted, gary frank is indeed one of the modern masters

The Man Of Steel indeed. While the Superman mythology may bring to mind several different iconic images, scenes like this are what the character is all about. Pure strength, unlimited power, a living god among men. Gorgeous linework and great detail on this cover, and I love the expression on his face. Congratulations my friend, couldn't have happened to to a finer human being.
