DescriptionWhile the impact of Miracleman on comics generally, and Alan Moore in particular, has been rather thoroughly discussed, the aspect of that ground breaking run that struck me most significantly was the book's humanity. When he wasn't in the throes of action, our omnipotent hero was besieged by trying to balance his renewed status as a modern day deity with his own humanity. In this sequence, Moore begins to establish Emil Gargunza as a far more terrifying figure than Dr. Sivana from whom he likely was initially derived. Miracleman was my first encounter with Alan Davis's art (which impressed me then and continues to do so) and this page is twice up sized.Social/Sharing |

"I heard Woodrow Wilson's guns" is a line from "Veracruz" by Warren Zevon. This page is beautiful and historically significant!
