Description

I initially contacted the ultra-talented Uko Smith for a commission this fall, hoping for his rendition of the Rachel Summers iteration of Phoenix, but found to my dismay that his schedule was quite full for the foreseeable future. He suggested, instead, that I should visit the nearby 2009 Mid-Ohio Comic Con (where he was appearing) and get a convention sketch from him there, instead. Unfortunately, I knew I'd be unable to make the show, so I figured I was out of luck. As I was commiserating about the series of events to my good friend (and fellow collector) Matthew M (who was going to the show already and who's awesome gallery can be seen right here), he offered to stop by Mr. Smith's table in my stead! What a guy! The piece that you're seeing here is the one he knocked out for me at the show. As you can see, it was well worth the persistence! Thanks, Matthew and thanks, Uko!!! :D
