DescriptionMandrake the Magician Daily Strip, 6-24-1935.Very early daily, from the second story, "The Clay Camel". Second year. Mandrake in tuxedo, Lothar giving him protection and Saki disguised as a waiter. Mandrake is one of my father's favorites and mine's too. Thanx to Maurizio for have given me such a wonderful and historical piece. Social/Sharing |

quite a lovely piece. I really like the line style he was using in this period-very reminiscent of Raymond's work with the dry brush inking.

This is beautiful -- as a lover of early strip art, it is a real joy to see these types of pieces in the hands of someone who clearly appreciates them!
