DescriptionI lost my wife to cancer at the beginning of 2009 and no matter what was thrown at her by this terrible disease she always fought back and she never gave up even during those last few days we had together. She had a grace and style like no other person that I had met before coupled with an inner strength that made her very special and she loved her cats Sasha, Rosie and Pippy. Sasha is currently taking care of Valerie so she is not alone while Rosie and Pippy are making sure that I'm staying out of trouble but I’m not sure if it isn’t me that should be keeping them out of trouble. This piece is very special because Valerie loved me no matter how geeky I was over comic books, movies, video games, etc. I always joked with her that she was my Catwoman and I was her Batman. As you can see from my commissions, they represent us in a geeky way that she would have approved. This piece captures the essence of Valerie with her cats and I will cherish it until we meet again. My eternal gratitude to Simon for parting with this piece. Social/Sharing |

That piece is absolutely gorgeous, one of Alex Ross's finest. What a fitting and touching memoriam.
