DescriptionGreat page on it's own merits, but also special for having a visual joke in panel 2 as noted in Oversteet. Take a close look and see if you can find it. This was where Smith was improving virtually with every issue. The storytelling and sequence of panels is brilliant. Beautifully inked by Tom SuttonExcellent Condition, although the panels are all pasted together by Smith, which he did sometimes in his perfectionistic manner. 10 1/2 X 15 3/4 Social/Sharing |

Great page. Loved every page of this issue, Barry had it dialed in, but those inks are really solid, too.

Nicely-minted joke and tight vertically-paneled action!

My buddies and I always loved those mod effects Smith pioneered when we were originally reading the Conans

Smith's stylistic touches, the action, the details, and Sutton's excellent inking add up to a great Conan page.

Barry's Conan was gorgeous and I loved, as you mentioned, seeing the improvement/evolution of his art with each succeeding issue. Brings back great memories...

This is a great piece of history. And yes, he must have been mad to do them all.
Great piece Ted!
